Jean Bowen-Smith of The Kitchen Strand and a happy supporter of The Historical Society discuss the final topping for a gourmet coffee.
On March 6, 2010, The Kitchen Strand, a local kitchen interior design firm, served more than 700 gourmet coffees at the 15th annual Evening on Antique Row, benefiting The Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
With their sleek, stylized coffee bar and professional coffee machines from Miele, an international luxury appliance manufacturer, the designers-turned-baristas served espresso, lattes and cappuccinos, in addition to four exclusive dessert coffees: the Addison Mizner, Eileen Grey, Mies Van Der Rohe and the McKim Meade and White.
The "Eileen Grey", a variation on Irish coffee with Bailey's, a hint of cinnamon syrup, whipped cream and caramel drizzle, was especially popular at the chilly outdoor event.
With a special heart for underprivileged children, The Kitchen Strand and Miele have donated their exclusive barista service to seven charity events in the past two years. If you are interested in this service for your charitable affair, please contact The Kitchen Strand at 772-546-1306.
